Established over a century ago, Saint John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church, is located in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, in an area colloquially known as “the run.”
The church, which is maintained by its passionate parishioners, has a rich past, being founded over 100 years ago by deeply devout immigrants from the Trans-Carpathian region of Eastern Europe. Currently, there are many parishioners who have deep roots here as second, third and even fourth generation members, descended from founding families. New parishioners are joining the parish from other cultural and religious traditions. This growing diversity truly shows the beauty of the universal church.
As a faith community, we are part of the Byzantine Catholic Metropolia of the United States under the spiritual leadership of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Metropolitan William C. Skurla, Archbishop of Pittsburgh.
